The gaming industry so far this year has suffered an 8% drop in sales. Many critics attribute the decrease in sales to the current economic editions. In my opinion, however, I believe that the gaming community is awaiting releases expected to sell big in the fourth quarter and is, in retrospect, just saving their money for a holiday rush later this year. Halo: Reach, for example, expected to sell thousands of copies for various consoles has reached relative success, amassing just over 3 million sales in September. And although the eight percent drops seems rather steep in comparison to the sales of other industries, economists say that this figure does not include increasing digital sales.

Many U.S. superstores this weekend will be offering discounts of up
to a few hundred dollars off their wares. Prices of selected televisions in Walmart and Target stores throughout the United States are expected to plummet up to $400.00 through Sunday. Best Buy, one of the biggest electronics equipment sellers, is also expected to lower its prices considerably although nothing has
been announced as of now.
